How AIM works differently

Unlike traditional approaches that attempt to define every requirement before design begins, AIM uses an initial design as a practical tool for testing assumptions. We use that draft as the focus of a structured review session where the full client team, Projects, Operations, and management, pulls it apart together.

Identifying what does not work early is often the fastest way to define the right solution. That session gives us a clear, agreed brief that the final design is built from, eliminating the iteration cycles that come from trying to reverse-engineer requirements after the fact.

Week 2 Early design review

You receive a draft concept two weeks after kick-off, so you can tell us what works, what does not, and what needs to change before detailed design begins.

2 site visits included in the design process.

Design Iterations

Three iterations: conceptual design, detailed design 1 and detailed design 2. Further iterations are billed at agreed hourly rates.

All deliverables are designed to support construction, operations and long term performance.

Typical design period
10 weeks

From information handover to final design package: concept design, the early review, two site visits and three design iterations. The clock starts once soil, water and survey data are in.

Before construction, to allow for design, contractor appointments and equipment lead times.
