A large citrus industry client recently acquired a large farm with a reliable gravity-fed water supply, canal system and substantial buffer dam, but no existing irrigation infrastructure. The client planned 135 ha of mixed citrus, rolled out in two phases (93 ha and 42 ha).

Design checks include an extreme case of 1.9 l/hr per dripper to account for manufacturing variation and long-term wear, with all manifold velocities kept below 2 m/s. Submains and manifolds downstream of filters are specified as welded HDPE PE100 PN8–PN10, providing durability and low friction.
